this comment paraphrases Crouse’s response when the concern about property tax levels on some seniors in our community was raised. Around 700 seniors receive the city largesse of $150 per year, because THEY OWN THEIR HOMES AND ARE BELOW ALBERTA’S TAXATION POVERTY LINE. The implication…property taxes of even $2500/year eat 15% of their total income. He’s a real community builder

By “paraphrasing” you mean a typical SATA fiction. Do you have more information as to when he said anything like “get out of town”? A reference to a gazette story perhaps? In my research on this all I found was a letter to the Gazette where the author penned this phrase. The letter was written after Crouse addressed the demographics of St Albert and commented that the population of St Albert was aging and we needed young families. In my research he never said anything resembling the notion that seniors should get of town.
